Story
Hello everyone, I’m Lawrence Rosenberg. You may know me as one of the 20 candidates on Season 20 of BBC One’s The Apprentice, hosted by Lord Sugar.
I’ve decided to use this platform to raise awareness and funds for Bowel Cancer UK, for a reason that is deeply personal to me and my family.
In December 2022, my father-in-law noticed blood on the toilet paper. Like many people, he assumed it was nothing serious and delayed getting it checked. But after a colonoscopy, he was diagnosed with a small cancerous tumour.
Since then, he has faced more chemotherapy rounds, surgeries, scans and blood tests than any family should ever have to count.
In September 2025, we received the news that his cancer had spread, and he was diagnosed with two secondary brain tumours.
He is the bravest person I know, and his journey has reinforced one critical message: early detection matters. Even small, painless symptoms can be serious, and any sign of blood in your poo or on toilet paper should be checked by a medical professional as soon as possible.
My wife Lydia, her family and I are unbelievably proud of him every day. Watching him fight this cruel disease with such strength has inspired me to do something meaningful while I have the opportunity to reach more people.
That’s why I’m fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK, to help support vital research and provide information and support to everyone affected by bowel cancer.
If you’re able to donate or share this message, it would mean the world to us.
Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.
