Lawsons Lofts fundraiser for St Catherine’s Hospice (Crawley)

Family Fun Day · 26 April 2025
Thank you for taking the time to visit Lawsons Lofts & The Hills Family JustGiving page. We are fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with a big ambition – to make sure nobody faces death and loss alone. The hospice relies on donations to offer pioneering end of life care and support to people in Sussex and East Surrey. Any donation you can give will mean a lot to St Catherine’s and make a direct difference to families facing terminal illness. St Catherine’s has never needed our support more. Together, let’s make sure the hospice can continue to provide vital care. Lawsons Lofts is a family run business with family at the forefront of everything we do, the Hills family have been part of the Lawsons family for many years, please read their story below:
On 18th June 2024 aged just 35, Mum of two Kirsty Hills was diagnosed with incurable metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Kirsty underwent an aggressive treatment for months but sadly in January we found out that the treatment had stopped working and that the cancer had spread further.
With Kirsty's cancer now classed as terminal she was put in the care of St Catherine's Hospice.
Initially St Catherine's made regular home visits and they left no stone un-turned. Everything that Kirsty needed was organised and delivered to the house at the click of a button.
Recently Kirsty has moved into the Hospice permanently. The hospice at Pease Pottage is absolutely beautiful and the staff are all so friendly. The move came with so much anxiety and fear but as soon as we arrived here we knew we would be ok.
Unfortunately due to a lack of funding St Catherine's only have 12 out of 24 rooms functional. They rely solely on donations and I cannot think of a more deserving place to give your support to.
Not only is the care Kirsty is receiving first class but the support and care to her family members and friends is too. Everybody affected by Kirsty's illness are supported in every possible way.
A little bit about Kirsty...
Kirsty is a well known figure around the Maidenbower area.
She is the Teaching Assistant who is always smiling at Maidenbower Infant School. Kirsty has been instrumental in helping and supporting the children at the school and is a very popular figure to the young students there.
She is also a member of Crawley and Maidenbower Panthers Football Club where she was instrumental in setting up and playing for the women's recreation football team, as well as supporting her son's junior team throughout the years.
She is simply the best Wife and Mum you could ever possibly wish for. She is a family person who would do absolutely anything to make sure her family are ok. Our family is absolutely heartbroken to know that Kirsty won't be with us for long and we would love for Kirsty to see this family fun day raise as much money as possible for the most amazing cause which is so close to all of our hearts.
Kirsty is the warmest, kindest and most beautiful smiley person you could ever wish to meet.
