Join us on the 12th July to take to the skies with our Cavendish Skydive at Hibaldstow! Take on the Lincolnshire scenery and feel the wind rush past as you raise money for local families while safely harnesses to a qualified instructor!

Story

Well, doing a skydive has always been on my bucket list! However, I never expected to be doing it under such personal circumstances.

A year ago having just turned 49, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast cancer. The past year has therefore been busy with appointments, tests, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and going forward medication for up to 10 years.

I have been in the fortunate position of living very close to Weston Park Hospital and both cancer charities - Cavendish Cancer Care and Weston Park Cancer Charity. I have been a service user, as well as my family and will remain a service user during this very important rehabilitation period.

All I can say is that Cavendish (and WPCC) are just simply AMAZING! When in a very dark place...they are the little glimmer of light at every stage.

Cancer can be scary...but the people within these organisations really help make it feel less scary. They provide support in a number of ways and enable you to become more informed and adapt to a new 'normal'.

So...on Saturday 12th July, I will be throwing myself out of a plane to raise as much money as possible to keep these life changing services going. Plus what better way to celebrate end of active treatment, being cancer-free and turning 50.....once dreaded, now cherished. Plus my gorgeous family will be there on the day to witness the 'feels'!

With the inflating cost of living, I am super conscious of asking for charitable donations, but if I could get at least 100 people to donate just £5, it would be amazing to reach my target. So sincere apologies (or not!|) for spreading wide & far xxx

More about Cavendish Cancer Care....

Earlier this year, Cavendish Cancer Care merged with Weston Park Cancer Charity, another well-established cancer charity based in Sheffield. This merger will provide a clearer pathway for cancer patients and their families, offering support at every step.

All services provided are free of charge and your donation will go towards:

- Providing vital support, such as complementary therapies and counselling for patients, carers, loved ones and children affected by cancer

- Peer to peer support through the Cavendish Buddies Scheme

- The Big Purple Bus, bringing cancer care and support to local communities

- Free transport service for cancer patients

- Funding life changing research

Your donation will make a huge difference to local people, making sure nobody faces cancer alone.

Thank You.
