Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My names Layla, i’m 22 and on the 28th January 2025 I was diagnosed with 2 types of ovarian cancer. On the 9th January I had major abdominal surgery to remove a 23cm tumor, my right ovary, my right tube, my stomach lining and some enlarged lymph nodes. Cancer is something you hear so much about but you still think it’s never going to be you hearing them words “you’ve got cancer” and nothing can prepare you for that. On the 17th February 2025, I began my course of chemotherapy where I have 4 cycles to kill any left over cancer cells and help prevent this reoccurring. Unfortunately with many other side affects I am now suffering from the dreaded hair loss so I am going to be braving the shave 7th March 2025 and giving any donations to a charity very close to my heart. A charity that’s made this nightmare feel not so scary. I begin my next chemo cycle next week at the teenage / young adults cancer trust centre at UCLH who are just amazing. There is no words for what this charity does and has done for me the last few months, they help in so many ways possible and any donation would make a difference to them.
