"Little Hearts Matter" is a national charity that now holds a special place in my heart. They provide unwavering support and invaluable information to anyone affected by the devastating diagnosis of a single ventricle heart condition. These are the brave children who are born with half a working heart, facing challenges that most of us can't even imagine.

I have chosen to dedicate my efforts this year to support "Little Hearts Matter" because of the profound impact they had on a close friend of mine. Her son, who has become the face of my fundraising campaign, was born with a heart that didn't function as it should. He was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS), a condition where the right ventricle is underdeveloped.

From the moment he entered this world, his journey has been filled with surgeries and medical interventions. At just 8 days old, he underwent his first operation, followed by several more at 11 months, 2 1/2 years old, and 4 years old. Each procedure aimed to improve his lung circulation since he was born with only a left ventricle and his heart on the right side. It's incredible how resilient these little hearts can be!

The incredible support that "Little Hearts Matter" provided my friend and her family has left an indelible mark on me. Even now, years later, she continues to speak highly of their unwavering dedication and care. Her son has grown into an inspiring young adult, defying all odds stacked against him.

This year, I am determined to give back to this remarkable charity that works tirelessly to support these children and their families. They not only raise awareness about their unique needs but also provide vital assistance to those families who need it most.

I am reaching out to you, because I need your help in making a difference in the lives of these courageous children and their families. Your generous donations will go directly towards supporting "Little Hearts Matter" in their mission.

To achieve this goal, I will be participating in the Principality Hanner Marathon Caerdydd/Cardiff Half Marathon 2024 - and aiming to hit that 2 hour mark or less this year, but every step I take will be fuelled by your support and encouragement.

My target amount for this campaign is £1,000 - an ambitious goal that I believe we can achieve together! Your contributions will make an immediate impact on the lives of these children and their families who rely on "Little Hearts Matter" for guidance and support during their most challenging times.

All donations will be so gratefully received, I will be doing various events, selling things everywhere I can and generally doing all I can to smash this target for them, finishing the fundraising push in October for the 13.1 mile tour of Caerdydd!
