Lazy Summer Sounds at the Richard Jefferies Museum

“Lazy Summer Sounds”
Our community-run museum is set in a beautiful old farmhouse and gardens which were once home to nature writer and early ecologist, Richard Jefferies. Like Jefferies, we celebrate the countryside and the natural richness that is all around us, finding relevance to today and for everyone to enjoy.

Story

Help us amplify 🔊 Lazy Summer Sounds at the Richard Jefferies Museum! Your support will directly fund Swindon’s local, independent, and unsigned musicians, allowing us to pay them fairly for their incredible talent.

Every Sunday from May to September, our serene outdoor museum gardens transform into a vibrant, relaxed venue, offering high-quality, original live music alongside art exhibitions and outdoor play (in other parts of our gardens). This extra project not only champions emerging artists, but also provides a unique and accessible cultural experience for families and the entire community.

We want to encourage young musicians who write and perform their own music to take a risk and perform for the public, and get paid fairly for doing it. Our audience is chilled out and extremely supportive of all genres, so performers can relax, too!

By contributing, you'll ensure these vital performance opportunities continue, fostering Swindon's grassroots music scene and enriching our shared culture. Support our local talent and enjoy beautiful summer afternoons!
