Fast for a Day – Supporting The Whitechapel Mission

The Whitechapel Mission has been serving the homeless and marginalised since 1876 – including a day centre, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs. By encouraging each person to address the issues which caused their homelessness.

Story

During the holy month of Ramadan, colleagues at SPB are taking part in a “Fast for a Day” initiative, fasting in solidarity with Muslim colleagues while raising funds for the Whitechapel Mission.

Ramadan is a time of gratitude, reflection, and charity. Each year, Muslims in the UK donate over £150 million during this month to support those in need. Through this initiative, we hope to contribute to that spirit of giving by supporting people facing homelessness in London.

The Whitechapel Mission has been helping people experiencing homelessness and poverty in London for over 150 years, providing hot meals, clothing, medical care, and long-term support.

Now in its fifth year at SPB, Fast for a Day brings colleagues together to raise awareness and funds for vulnerable members of our community. The money raise will help provide will help provide meals and essential support services to those who need them most.

Please support our participants by donating — every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

Thank you for your generosity.
