Tilly Higgs is raising money for Leicester City in the Community
Story
Myself and my colleagues - Dan, Jo and Sarah, are taking part in the Samworth Charity Challenge 2024, in order to raise money for Leicester’s young carers.
We will be completing a 10km trail run, 30km mountain bike and a 10km canoe (and navigating the route ourselves!) on Saturday 11th May!
A young carer is someone aged 25 and under, who cares for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disease or mental health issues, or an addiction, cannot cope without their support.
Currently, Leicester City in the Community’s support for young carers is one of the only support systems available to these young people. By raising funds we can provide mentoring, well-being support, life skills and enrichment opportunities for young carers.
