Story
Why I’m Running the Manchester Marathon 🏃🏿♂️
In 2026, I’m taking on the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for Let’s Do More (LDM) – the organisation I founded over six years ago, which proudly gained charitable status this year. Through basketball, we create opportunities, build confidence, and help young people thrive both on and off the court.
Running isn’t easy for me, but it’s the challenge I keep coming back to when it’s about making a difference. This isn’t my first running campaign either. Back in 2017, I ran 401 days in a row at 6am every morning to kickstart the LDM movement (not many people know this!).
I’m also running in memory of my late mother, Loray Brown, who died suddenly in 2023. She always encouraged me to think beyond limits, and her values of education, discipline and compassion are the foundation of everything LDM stands for.
About Let’s Do More (LDM) 🏀
What began as a small campaign to bring basketball sessions into underserved communities has grown into a movement. We now run:
🏀 Community basketball sessions for children, young people, and adults
🧠 Trauma-informed programmes supporting those referred by schools, police, and mental health services
🎓 Leadership opportunities helping young people train as coaches, referees, and future community leaders
🚍 Junior teams who travel all over the country to play the game
Every donation helps us keep basketball accessible and life-changing for those who need it most.
