Among the top universities globally, Cambridge engages in cutting-edge research to find solutions to global problems. The Cambridge community is made up of 24,270 students, 11,528 faculty and staff, and more than 300,000 alumni. Affiliates have won 110 Nobel Prizes.

Story

Back in pre Covid 2020, Tom, Louis, Debz and Will were going to cycle from Lands End to John O' Groats in June, and they were all set - with the exception of not having done enough training. Tom saw it as a chance to get to know our own land, and dubbed it the "Tour of Brexit Britain". There were some concerns about Tom's insistence on riding in the same gear at all times (for fear of wearing the gears out), but Louis would make reassuring references to the power in Tom's legs ("big levers"). Meanwhile Tom worried that his three competitive friends would miss picturesque village greens in their quest to set good times on Strava segments.

This year Louis, Debz, Will and a few more - Jonny, Jess, Rosanna, Joe R, Joe S and Ophelia - are going to make the odyssey in honour of our beloved Tom. It seems like a great excuse to do something centred around him, and we hope to make it a mass-participation event of his friends and family.

We didn't originally think about fundraising but a few of our friends and family have asked if we are raising money for anything, so we have set up this page and the University of Cambridge will direct donations towards the 'History Research Fund in Memory of Tom Leece' that Jess, Kate and John set up in his memory.
