Story
In August 2024, we (Leanne, Lea and Clare) are taking on a Mighty Hike along the Rob Roy Way to raise vital funds for people living with cancer. We are aiming to complete the full marathon of 26 miles 😬
We wanted to raise money for a cause that was important to us. In December 2022, aged 36, Clare was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Throughout last year Clare underwent major bowel surgery and 8 rounds of chemotherapy. Thankfully, earlier this year, her scans showed no evidence of disease and fingers crossed that continues ☺️
Other close family and friends have also undergone treatment for various cancers including colorectal and throat and have also got the all clear due to their strength and determination and the treatments available. These recent events have unfortunately given us all an insight into this world but also the importance of research and the work of cancer charities and the part they play.
We have pledged to raise £750 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising our pledge, we could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
