This May, I’m running the Hackney Half Marathon 🏃‍➡️ to raise money for The Literacy Pirates 🏴‍☠️ – a charity I’m incredibly proud to support.

Over the years, this remarkable organisation has become a cause very close to my heart ❤️. Its mission is to empower children who are falling behind in school and may not have the same opportunities as their peers. By helping them build their literacy, confidence, and perseverance, The Literacy Pirates enables these young people to thrive – both in school and in life. The hope is to create a world where all children can reach their full potential ✨.

What will keep me going through 21k (and all the training that comes with it!) is not just the cause itself and your donations 😉, but the cheeky smiles and proud moments I’ve shared with young pirates – especially when they teach me how to pronounce a word or explain its meaning. Volunteering with them helped me overcome my fear of reading in English, something I struggled with after moving to London.
