Story
This June, a group of friends and I will be climbing Snowdon to raise money for an incredible charity dedicated to protecting animals and communities around the world 🏔️ I will be wearing a 10kg weighted vest for this
In November I travelled to Malawi and saw first-hand the life-changing work they do. From treating injured animals to delivering vital rabies vaccinations, their work protects both animals and people in areas where resources are limited.
The experience inspired me even more as I continue my journey in veterinary nursing. This October I’ll also be part of the treatment team in Cambodia, helping deliver care to the animals.
Not every country has access to the same resources we do, and your support can help provide treatment, equipment, and lifesaving rabies vaccines.
Any donation, big or small, will help make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support 🐾
Around the world someone dies from rabies every 9 minutes. You can help change this.
Over 99% of human rabies cases are caused by an infected dog bite. Once symptoms of the disease develop, it is fatal.
Every year, millions of healthy dogs are inhumanely killed for fear of this deadly disease. However, this doesn't halt the spread of rabies, which causes the deaths of around 59,000 people a year – the majority of which are children under 15.
Science shows that the most effective long-term rabies control strategy is through vaccination of dogs in endemic areas, so we head to rabies hotspots and run mass vaccination and education programmes - protecting both the human and canine populations.
Crucially, it's working. Human deaths in our key project sites have all but been eliminated and we'll keep going until it's zero all around the world.
Be a part of this life-saving mission!
