Story
Last November, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with cancer. The last few months have been filled with countless appointments, a life altering surgery, and lots of very difficult, dark days.
However, with the most amazing people by my side every step of the way, and with the support of the incredible staff at The Christie’s, I am extremely grateful to have come out of the other side.
So I’m really happy that I am able to run the 10K to raise funds for The Christie charity, alongside Kieran. I hope that by sharing my story and raising funds, I can help ensure that The Christie charity continues to provide vital support to those in need, just as they did for me.
Edit 1st May- After a successful surgery and all of the cancer removed, my body began to reject the internal stitches meaning the wound kept opening, and the stitches that were meant to dissolve had to be pulled and cut out week after week after week. This meant my leg was bandaged and I was unable to bend my knee for the most part of 3 months. So unfortunately I won’t be able to run the race, but I will be walking it alongside my amazing mum & friends.
Thank you for taking the time to read and donate,
Leah🩷
