Story
This September, I’ll be taking on another big challenge: running the Bryce Canyon Ultramarathon 50k on September 19, 2026. I’m doing it for a cause that’s close to my heart. I’ll be running to raise funds for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, supporting groundbreaking research and vital programs for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
This mission is deeply personal to me. My best friend’s mom, Shelly Richards, who has been like a second mother, and my grandfather, Papa Jim, have both been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I’ve watched them face each day with courage, grace, and an unwavering love for life. Their strength humbles me. Their resilience inspires me. And their spirit is what will carry me through every mile of this race.
I’m honored to be running as a Charity Bib participant, with a goal of raising $1,250, and I would love nothing more than to surpass it, to make an even bigger impact in their honor. The Michael J. Fox Foundation is relentless in its pursuit of a cure and in supporting those living with Parkinson’s. I’m proud to contribute in any way I can.
Why I’m running:
I’m running for Shelly. I’m running for Papa Jim. I’m running for everyone who refuses to let Parkinson’s define their life. Every step I take is for them, for hope, for progress, for the day we can finally say there’s a cure. I’ve committed to reaching my fundraising goal by two weeks before race day, and I would be so grateful for your support on this journey.
Will you help me make a difference?
Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to a cure. Together, we can give hope to millions of families who are affected by Parkinson’s.
