What we are seeing in Gaza is breaking our hearts.

These families are no different to yours or mine - it is purely down to luck as to where we have been born. Children should be bringing joy and delight and wonder into the world and instead they are being starved and traumatised.

As mothers it hurts on a whole new level to see this brutality because we know how much it aches to see your child suffering and know how desperately you need to soothe and protect them. We cannot imagine how unbearably awful it must feel to be unable to save your family and watch the devastating affects on their little bodies and minds.

A mother’s love is ferocious, formidable and incomparable, this is your call to arms to harness that power together. In August a group of us will each be doing a sponsored activity of our choice (be it a run/ cycle / silence/ creative endeavor) in order to raise money for a charity which is helping the children of Gaza.

I have chosen to climb Mount Nabi Yunis ,the highest peak in Palestine. This will be a virtual climb, with the equivalent height/distance done on my stairs at home.

I have chosen to fundraise for the grass roots charity, Road to Freedom, a charity that my best friend Jaz (AKA Asylum Speakers) has witnessed the fantastic work on the ground. RTF provides Palestinian refugees fleeing Gaza with immediate aid, including food, clothes and hygiene kits.
