As a military working dog (MWD) handler i have seen first hand the struggle that retired working dogs have to be rehomed due to the lack of funding available to them. Most working dogs have retired due to old age or injury meaning that they may require extra veterinary care- this usually means dogs struggle to find a home with the funds to support them which leaves them no choice but to stay in the working environment! Many of the retired MWD’s are just in need of a cuddle and a sofa after spending years of their life working to help protect us. With our help the Thin Blue Paw Foundation can help retired working dogs find their new home and enjoy their retirement with the right care, medication and love like they deserve.
