Half marathon

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello and thank you for popping by my fundraising page.

As you may or may not know, I hate running. I've always hated it and I'm really no good at it either.

However, following a very scary night in February, I have dusted off my trainers and will be running a half marathon to raise vital awareness and funds for The Stroke Association.

My boyfriend, Craig, suffered a stroke at the age of 35 in February this year affecting his speech and the mobility in the left side of his body. Witnessing the impact of a stroke on a loved one has shown me the challenges faced by survivors and their families both at the time of the event and in the months (and sometimes years) that follow.

The Stroke Association provides invaluable resources, support, and hope during these tough times to survivors and their families. Your donation will contribute to vital research, raise awareness, and provide assistance to those in need.

I best get running I guess...

Thank you so much for your support which will make a meaningful difference to future survivors and their loved ones.

A message from The Stroke Association:

"When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives. Thank you."
