Leanne & Nick's fundraiser for Northumberland Wildlife Trust

Leanne Johnson is raising money for Northumberland Wildlife Trust
Celebrating the wedding of Leanne Johnson and Nicholas Armitt

on 3 October 2026

Northumberland Wildlife Trust has been saving wildlife and wild places and helping people get closer to nature since 1971. We are one of 46 Wildlife Trusts, a grassroots movement working across the UK to make life better – for wildlife, for people and for future generations. We aim to inspire people to get closer to and value nature and provide a range of educational events and activities for adults, families and schools at our visitor centres and nature reserves. We look after over 60 nature reserves in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland: places where wildlife can survive and thrive. We protect wildlife by managing habitat on our reserves, advise other landowners, run projects to help endangered animals and plants and campaign against development on green spaces. And we do all this with the help of over 300 volunteers who support nature conservation, from tree planting to conducting surveys, planning fundraising activities and assisting with events and education sessions.

Story

We have all we need, so in lieu of wedding gifts we'd love to help give back, and support a great charity that means a lot to both of us.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is a fantastic organisation that helps keep the North East beautiful for both animals and people. We've enjoyed trips to their nature reserves and sites over many years. Right now, they have a once in a generation opportunity to secure a fantastic historic site in Northumberland, supported by Sir David Attenborough amongst others.
