Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge

Lee Torlay is raising money for Pendleside Hospice

Yorkshire 3 peaks · 16 May 2026

Pendleside Hospice believes in nurturing and caring for those in our local community affected by advancing long term and life limiting illness, through to end of life care and bereavement, by providing a range of comprehensive and easily accessible services to support them on their journey.

Story

We are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Pendleside Hospice, a charity that does truly incredible work for our local community.

Let’s be honest, dealing with life’s toughest moments deserves more than just applause — it deserves proper funding, which is why charity donations keep places like Pendleside running.

So here we are, planning to walk, climb, and probably curse our way up Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough — Yorkshire’s three biggest peaks — in one go. That’s roughly 24 miles (38 km) with a total ascent of about 1,585 meters (5,200 ft), all in under 12 hours, over rugged trails, steep climbs, and whatever the weather decides to throw at us. And yes, we'll probably be muttering a few choice words along the way — all in the name of raising money for a brilliant cause.

Every donation, big or small, helps keep Pendleside Hospice there for families who really need it.
