Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm taking part in the Great North Run in September and would like to raise some money for the fantastic Exmouth Gateway Club which my son Harry attends and looks forward to every week.

Gateway is a social group for adults with disabilities in Exmouth and the surrounding area. Founded in 1989, it currently has over 80 members of varying ages who have a wide range of disabilities. The aim of the group is to help members develop their social and independence skills whilst giving them the opportunity to socialise with their peers in familiar surroundings whilst feeling safe and relaxed.

The Club is run entirely by volunteers and relies purely on donations and fundraising to operate. The group meets every Monday (including most Bank Holidays) at Exmouth Rugby Club.

A variety of different activities are arranged including craft nights, discos, bingo, skittles, karaoke, quizzes, as well as day trips and holidays.

The club also has 3 disability football teams that play as part of the Exmouth Tigers Disability FC. Players are aged 16+ and they play in monthly tournaments around Devon.
