Exercise every day of January · 31 January 2024

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

We are taking on a team challenge to exercise every single day in January.

We are doing this to support Alzheimer's Research UK. Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia. Alzheimer's Research UK are the UK's leading dementia research charity. Your donation helps their scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.

We chose an exercise challenge because as well as improving well being, exercise leads to improvements in thinking and memory, and reduced rates of dementia.

We would love other people to join in our challenge, even if it's just for part of the month (you can always carry on during February too!) Pick an activity that you will do every day - or switch between activities - and join our JustGiving team. You can do this in two ways - send me a message and I'll add your name to the list below, or you can set up your own linked JustGiving page by clicking the "Join Team" button.

The more of us there are, the more money we can raise together.

Here are the team activities so far (I can add to this, just let me know).

Karate kata, cycling, walking, running, horse-riding, yoga, pilates, HIIT, circuit training, badmington.

See Karen C's page for daily team updates and photos.

Team members: George A, Trish B, Mark B, Kathy B, Jo B, Rachel C, Ian C, Sally C, Karen C, Lee E, Kevin F, Ivan P, John T, Caroline T, Ali W, Emma W, Helen W, Ade W, Cathy Y.

Please help our team to keep going throughout January, and raise funds for a cure for this terrible disease.
