Solo North Channel Swim (20+ miles) followed by a Solo Two Way Bristol Channel (42+ miles)

We are a small non-profit, registered charity that aims to support families struggling with hardship & poverty in the Wakefield area. We provide essential items such as clothes, toys, nappies, toiletries & equipment to babies and children up to the age of 16.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Following my success swimming the English Channel in September 2021 I’m about to undertake another mammoth challenge to complete a North Channel Solo Swim (Irish sea) in June 2023 from Northern Ireland to Scotland. This is my warm up swim, which is 20+ miles non-stop (not even for eating, sleeping or going to the loo!), I’ll then be doing my biggest challenge yet - a Solo Bristol Channel Two Way Swim in July 2023. I will be swimming a minimum 42 miles again nonstop! This has NEVER been done before and I will hopefully be recognised in the Guinness World Record for this achievement!

I am raising money for a local charity based in Ossett who me and my wife have supported personally and through our company for a few years. They are called Stepping Stones Baby Bank.

Stepping Stones Baby Bank are a non-profit, volunteer run organisation and it is their aim to support families in and around Ossett, Horbury, Wakefield and surrounding areas with baby and child essentials to ensure that no child goes without. From nappies and toiletries, to stairgates, buggies, clothing and toys, they aim to provide all that is needed to support families in caring for babies and children. They work in conjunction with the local community to provide new and pre-loved essentials that are donated and pass them onto families who may need a helping hand. There's a huge difference between surviving and thriving. Survive means to “continue to live or exist, especially in spite of danger or hardship.” Thrive means to “prosper, be fortunate or successful, to grow or develop vigorously; flourish.” Stepping Stones want all babies, children and families to have the opportunity to thrive!

Me and Gill will be covering all the costs of the swims including the boats and support crews so that all of the money I can raise in donations goes straight to Stepping Stones Baby Bank.

If you are able to sponsor me we really would be so grateful!
