Story

In April 2026, I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise valuable funds to purchase cold cots to support families going through babyloss. I will be doing this alongside four amazing friends that have been so kind to join team Albie and run this event for Abigail's footsteps. Claire, Joe, Sophie & Michelle, all in memory of our beautiful boy Albie Lee Gisby.

In July 2023 Albie was born stillborn at 39 weeks at Basildon Hospital. Hearing the words " im sorry there is no heartbeat" will haunt us forever. We now entered this other World we never knew existed.

Albie was born on the 30th July 2023, we stayed In the Forget me not suite in Basildon Hospital for three days with him and introduced him to Daisy & Chloe.

Albie was placed in a cold cot which is a refrigerated cot that allows you to spend more time with your baby. If it wasnt for this cot, we wouldn't have been able to do this, this enabled us to spend valuable time making memories with him, and allowing the girls to meet their baby brother.

Holly suggested raising money to fund purchasing a cold cot in Albies memory & to give other families going through babyloss the same opportunity we had. When she started researching, she came across the charity Abigail's footsteps.

Its now been 2 years since we lost Albie and what a rollercoster we have been on, lots of tears, anger, frustration, and then onto the more happier times fundraising in his memory and having the opportunity to help other families.

Team Albie has raised an outstanding £20,000 which has enabled us to donate 7 cold cots in Albie's name.

Cot 1 went to Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley

Cots 2 & 3 went to a brand new hospital that opened in October 2024, Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital in Birmingham

Cot 4 went to Basidon Hospital

Cot 5 went to Watford General Hospital

Cot 6 went to Broomfield Hospital

Cot 7 TBC

The fundraising has begun again and were hoping we can achieve cot 8 in 2026

Any donations big or small we are so greatful for, and for all the support everyone has gave us in the last 2 years.

Lee , Holly, Daisy, Chloe & Elsie.

Lets go Team Albie
