Story
Life was moving at its usual pace until July 2025, when our world was suddenly turned upside down. At just 33 years old, my partner Ebony, the heart of our family and the incredible mother to our two beautiful children, received a devastating breast cancer diagnosis. Tragically, we learned it had already begun to spread to her lymphatic system.
Overnight, our lives shifted. Ebony was thrust into the fight of her life.
Ebony’s Journey:
Since that day, Ebony has faced every hurdle with a bravery that is hard to put into words. Her journey has been relentless:
Months of intense weekly chemotherapy.
Major surgery in February 2026.
Currently undergoing daily radiotherapy.
They say you don't know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice, but Ebony has redefined that strength for all of us. Throughout the chemotherapy, the surgery, and the exhaustion, she has remained the same incredible woman I love: full of humor, grace, and an unbreakable spirit. To our children, she is still their world; to me, she is an inspiration. We are so incredibly proud of the warrior she has become.
The Challenge: 10 Events, Hundreds of Kilometres
Ebony has been through so much; the least I can do is go on a few runs. To support the fight against this disease and to ensure that more mums, daughters, and sisters have the best possible chance of survival, I am taking on a series of running events throughout 2026:
Rhayader (30k) – 07.03.2026
Lake Annecy (42k) – 19.04.2026
Barry Island (10k) – 17.05.2026
Swansea (21k) – 07.06.2026
Porthcawl (10k) – 05.07.2026
Cardiff (10k) – 06.09.2026
Worcester (21k) - 13.09.2026
Swindon (21k) - 27.09.2026
Cardiff (21k) - 04.10.2026
Chicago (42k) – 11.10.2026
Where Your Donation Goes:
Breast cancer affects every family differently, so I have decided to split my fundraising between two incredible charities that tackle the disease from different angles:
1. Breast Cancer Now: The UK’s largest breast cancer charity. They fund world-class research while providing life-changing support through specialist nurses and local groups, ensuring no one faces this journey alone.
2. Against Breast Cancer: A highly focused charity targeting secondary (metastatic) breast cancer. They fund vital research into tools for earlier diagnosis and are working on a revolutionary vaccine to stop the disease from returning.
Every single event is fully self-funded. This means that 100% of your donation goes directly to these two causes.
Ebony is my inspiration. If she can fight her battle with such grace, I can certainly find the strength to run these miles. Please donate whatever you can. Every pound brings us one step closer to a cure.
We both appreciate your support more than words can say.
Thank you,
Lee & Ebony
