An Ultramarathon for Ichthyosis

This year in July, I’m pushing myself far outside my comfort zone by running a 100 mile ultramarathon to raise funds for Ichthyosis Charities.

Our son Alfie lives with a rare genetic skin condition called Epidermolytic Ichthyosis, a form of ichthyosis that causes painful blistering, thickened skin, and daily challenges that most of us can’t imagine. There is no cure, and managing the condition requires intensive daily care and constant vigilance against infection.

EI Cure is driving forward the research that no one else is funding, aiming to find better treatments and ultimately, a cure.

Every mile I run is for Alfie, and for the amazing children and families living with ichthyosis.
