The UK Sepsis Trust is proud to be part of this incredible event. The London Marathon stands as one of the most iconic races in the world, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to the team!

Story

Back in 2018 my brother in law developed flu which quickly led to pneumonia followed by septic shock and multi organ failure. He was retrieved by the amazing ECMO team and transferred from Cardiff to St Thomas’s Hospital in London where he remainder on ECMO for 6 weeks.

The amazing team and care meant he is one of the lucky ones and lives to tell the tale. Despite 3 toes amputated, some partial hearing and peripheral vision loss he was extremely lucky - all thanks to the incredible team in St Thomas’s.

Over the last few years my family have undertaken numerous events to help raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust, local Sepsis walks, cake bakes and we continue to share the amazing support UK Sepsis Trust offer.

Running the 2026 London Marathon would be another milestone in giving back to such an amazing charity and hopefully raising not only the required funds, but also raising awareness.

Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. With your support, we can make a difference!

It raises awareness and sparks the question: What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths and unnecessary suffering through knowledge and awareness of the symptoms.

I am so excited to announce that I will run in the "TCS London Marathon 2026" on April 26, 2026. My goal is to raise £2,700 to support vital initiatives that educate health professionals and help individuals adjust to life after sepsis through the UK Sepsis Trust Support Group network.

Please join us in this important mission—every donation counts and brings us one step closer to making a lasting impact!
