Story
In October, I'm taking on one of the world's more unforgiving landscapes to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. Starting on 10th October, I'll be trekking for six days across the Sahara Desert, navigating extreme heat, vast sand dunes, and probably various creatures I will not want to find in my sleeping bag...
Dementia is one of the most devastating conditions affecting people in the UK today. There are currently an estimated 982,000 people living with dementia in the UK, and that number is expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. Dementia is now the UK's biggest killer, and one in three people born today will develop it in their lifetime. Alzheimer's Society is at the forefront of the fight against it, funding vital research, providing support to those living with dementia and their families, and campaigning for better care.
Your donation, however big or small, will go directly towards research, support, and care for people whose lives have been turned upside down by this condition. I would be incredibly grateful for any contribution you can make.
