Riding on Air 2025

Lee McCarren is raising money for The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund

Andrew's Airplay cycle challenge · 12 September 2025 to 19 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

15 riders, led by adventure cyclist Andrew Crompton, will undertake a self-funded challenge cycling 630 miles from RAF Lossiemouth to RAF Wyton from 12-19 September 2025 raising funds for Airplay, the RAF Benevolent Fund's youth support programme.

Story

I'm part of the 2025 Riding on Air cycle challenge team raising funds towards Airplay, the RAF Benevolent Fund's flagship youth support programme.

Established in 2010, Airplay has youth clubs at 24 RAF stations across the UK. Aimed at children and young people aged eight to eighteen, Airplay is a safe and fun place to thrive, get active, interact with peers and engage in age-appropriate, issue-based sessions that affect and surround them e.g. addiction, cyberbullying and keeping safe online.

Current Airplay membership is a staggering 2,947 children and young people from serving families who attend weekly sessions.

By delivering consistent, high-quality support to young people, the programme (delivered in partnership by One YMCA) helps relieve some of the pressure on serving parents and provides continuity for children relocating between RAF stations.

As a team of 15 riders, we're aiming to raise £60,000 towards Airplay so we are hugely grateful for any donation you can make!
