This year, I'm taking on the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Myeloma UK, a cause that's very close to my heart. As many of you may know, my father-in-law, Martin, has been courageously battling myeloma for several years now. While myeloma may not be widely known, it has a profound impact on those who face it. The numerous rounds of chemotherapy and the toll it takes on the body and daily life are unrelenting.

Through it all, Martin has been nothing short of an inspiration to all of us. Despite the challenges, he has never once complained or felt sorry for himself. Instead, he greets each day as he always has, with a cheerful and contagious smile. His strength and resilience in the face of this illness are nothing short of extraordinary.

Martin's immune system is severely weakened by the chemotherapy, which means even a common cold can pose a serious risk to him, and yet, he remains positive through every hospital visit and setback.

I'm running this marathon not only for Martin but for everyone affected by myeloma. Your sponsorship will go directly to Myeloma UK, helping to fund critical research and support for patients and families like ours. Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference.
