Story
In memory of Lee Nicholas Downes, we are raising money for a cause close to his heart. Lee spent much of his life supporting and championing those with physical and mental disabilities.
Lee formed a friendship with Sophie, a spirited young girl who has cerebral palsy. He would often talk fondly of Sophie and how seeing her, would give him a great sense of enjoyment and how her sparking personality would bring joy to his days.
Lee's older brother Guy also has cerebral palsy, and knew first hand the need for additional support for families and education settings, that cater for the complex needs of those who have it.
Sophie attends the Oakleigh School and The Early Years Centre in Whetstone, a school caters for children aged 5-11 years who have severe learning difficulties and complex needs. The population includes children with additional needs, such as physical or sensory, and autism.
The Downes family feel that any contribution to this fantastic cause would mean a lot to Lee.
