Story
I can’t quite believe it… I’ve got a place in the London Marathon!
Back in April last year, I entered the ballot on a whim, never for a moment expecting to be successful. Fast-forward to now and suddenly the reality has hit — just four months to go and 26.2 miles standing between me and the finish line.
Although I secured a ballot place, I’ve decided to take on this challenge for a cause very close to my heart and raise money for charity along the way (even if it means a fair bit of self-inflicted torture!).
Anyone who knows me will know that I’m definitely not a natural-born runner, nor exactly built for it — but I’m committed to giving this challenge absolutely everything I’ve got.
I’ve chosen to support Prostate Cancer UK. This charity means so much to me, as my Dad has been living with prostate cancer since his diagnosis in June 2019. He has since undergone surgery and radiotherapy and continues to be closely monitored, as his levels have recently started to rise again.
Any support, whether big or small, would mean the world — not just to me, but to everyone affected by this disease. Thank you so much for reading and for supporting me on this journey.
