Story
I am going to be riding from John O’groats to lands end on a Honda gyro canopy. A 50cc 4 stroke 3 wheeler. A 1000 miles NONSTOP in 40 hours. I will be supported by 4 drivers in a support vehicle, who will follow me for the journey. The Honda has been highly modified, including a larger 7 gallon fuel tank.
Just a bit of background as to why I’m doing the ride. In the past I have been involved in raising money for a charity organisation Louie’s Smiles that has now ceased.
Louie’s Smiles charity was based in Chitterne and was set up by the family of Louie Coldwell who died in 2012 at the age of 10, after losing a brave battle with a rare form of cancer. I was in the same year as Louie’s parents Jo and Lance and my eldest daughter was in the same school year Louie.
Following his death, his family set up the charity to spread Louie’s famous smile to hospitals in which he was a patient during his treatment, by delivering toys and books to Salisbury and Southampton childrens wards.
I intend to raise a total of £10,000 and donate £5,000 each to the Salisbury and Southampton childrens wards.
It’s going to be a tough challenge 40 hours nonstop (An average working week) and a 1000 miles at 30mph.
I would appreciate it if you could share everywhere possible and give as much as you can. I know moneys tight for us all so spreading the word is the key.
I have already received some donations and I’m very grateful.
