Story
On 12th September 2022, my world changed forever when my amazing mum passed away after a brave two-year battle with bowel cancer. She faced every challenge with courage, dignity, and love.
Just a few months later, in January 2023, my dad was diagnosed with the same disease. Thankfully, thanks to early detection and swift treatment, he is now cancer free.
This journey has shown me both the heartbreak of losing someone too soon, and the hope that comes from timely treatment and research. That’s why I’m taking on the Great North Run Half Marathon - to honour my mum’s memory, celebrate my dad’s recovery, and help others facing this disease.
I’m aiming to raise £1,000 for Bowel Cancer UK funding vital research, raising awareness, and supporting families like mine. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
