Connie is running the Bournemouth Run supernova 5k in memory of her mum Michelle.

She’s running with a few others including Kelly and also her auntie Tilly who are all very kindly supporting the CJD Support Network which is a charity incredibly close to our hearts.

On 20th April 2023, our families world was turned upside down when Michelle passed away from a rare condition called Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). CJD is a rare and fatal condition that affects the brain. It causes brain damage that worsens rapidly over time. Michelle started feeling unwell November 2022, had ongoing tests and was diagnosed with Sporadic CJD in February 2023. We spent 4 months caring for her and watching her deteriorate every day. Michelle lost her memory, her ability to care for herself and be the beautiful person she was. As you can imagine, all of our hearts have been broken. Connie’s resilience during this time has been inspiring and we could not be more proud of how she has handled herself. The family would be unbelievably grateful if you would be kind enough to sponsor however big or small to raise some money for this amazing charity in Michelle’s name and memory.
