Story
Hi,
If we may have 2 minutes of your time.
Myself and 13 colleagues have decided to take on the national three peaks challenge in 24 hours.
We are raising monies and awareness for two extremely important charities, the Alzheimer’s Society and Young lives vs cancer.
Both charities deserve as much recognition, publicity and financial support to help battle these two very distressing and destructive diseases. So, as a group of colleagues we have decided to take this mammoth challenge head on!
The challenge starts in Fort William Scotland, at the base on Ben Nevis on Saturday 27th June at 7am and will finish god willing before 7am Sunday 28th June in Pen Y Pass Carpark at the foot of Snowdon in the national park. In between these two point we will also have to stop in Wasdale in the Lake District to take on Englands highest peak Scafell pike.
The aim is to summit and descend the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales which will require us to ascend over 3064 meters plus cover 23 mile on foot which is essentially 11 1/2 mile uphill and the same downhill, and cover over 462 miles between the peaks, all within the allotted 24 hour timeframe. The failure rate for this challenge is extremely high, somewhere in the region of 60% fail to hit the 24 hour limit so please bear this in mind if you think of putting your hand into your pocket to help support us along this crazy event!
It’s a massive undertaking and we all know that we will need to have a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work to get us over the line! But with your support we know we can do it.
From the team at Foster coldstores we thank you for taking a few minutes to read about our challenge. If you would like to sponsor us on either of the two charities or even both! Then you can use the link below to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society charity or you can donate to the Young lives vs cancer charity on the linked page attached to this one. (We couldn’t do both charities on one page unfortunately due to platform restrictions it wasn’t possible)
Much love and thanks from team Fosters, your ongoing support means the world to us ❤️
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
