We are Lee’s Spidey Army and again this year we will be joining the ‘Big Fun Walk 2023’ in honour of Lee Smith. Lee loved Spider-man throughout his childhood and adult life. Enough so, to get a Spider-Man tattoo spanning his whole back! What better way to honour him and what he loved then being his Spidey army.

Lee was a real character. A funny, witty, smart, and talented man who will forever be in our hearts and memories. We are all deeply saddened, shocked, and lost for words at the far too early departure of an uncle, brother, son, and friend to many.

Lee was admitted to the North London Hospice in August 2021 for pain management but unfortunately passed in October 2021 at the age of 48. During his last 6 weeks, the hospice provided endless support, care and comfort to him and everyone around him, which made a massive impact on our lives.

The nurses and doctors worked tirelessly to meet Lee’s every request and ensure all his needs were met. To this day, the hospice has provided continuous support to Lee’s family during their time of need and continue to comfort them throughout with regular contact.

We are so thankful to all the amazing staff and volunteers for all their work they have done for us and the work they will continue to do in the future for others.

This year I am going to be taking on the Big Fun Walk with Lee’s Spidey army which consists of 20 supportive family and friends and counting who loved Lee. We will be walking 8.6 miles to help spread awareness and raise funds for the North London Hospice.

Every pound raised helps the hospice's care teams to provide the best quality palliative and end of life care and support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness. Please consider gift aid when donating.

This annual event is so important because all the services the hospice offers are provided completely free. With only 40% of funding coming from the NHS, they rely on donations from the community to raise £13million each year.
