Jo, Sam, Harvey and Nicola are embarking on an adventure to raise money for the Bird of Prey centre at Leeds Castle in Kent. Sam is a full time member of the Staff at the centre and Jo and Harvey are volunteers. Nicola is a valued supporter of the birds at the centre and has very kindly joined us on our fundraising journey.

The Bird of Prey Centre, run by very knowledgeable staff Mark, Hannah and Sam, cares for 34 birds and monitors the wildlife across the vast estate of the castle, this includes swans, geese, ducks, bats and much more, providing safe environments for breeding and health. There are 28 volunteers providing additional support in the day to day running of the centre and care of the birds.

Jo, Sam, Harvey and Nicola will be completing a Wingwalk with https://Thewingwalkcompany.com based at Headcorn Aerodrome

This epic (and might I say very brave) event will take place on Friday 18th September 2026 at 10am at Headcorn Aerodrome. All are welcome to come along to support us in our hour of need and witness our questionable decision making!

The money raised will be paid to the Leeds Castle Foundation initially before being reallocated to the Bird of Prey Centre, this is because the centre comes under the umbrella of the Leeds Castle Foundation and is not a separate charity.

The Centre now runs under a Zoo licence which means many rules are now in place requiring updates and expansion of our current set up.

The funds are to help the staff and volunteers expand and modernise the number of aviaries available and purchase items for daily enrichment for the birds to keep them stimulated and happy.

There are so many aspects of care that give these beautiful birds the life they deserve and the dedicated staff and volunteers require the correct equipment to do so.

Whilst this is already available items do always need updating or replacing as time goes on.
