Story
Project Care Volunteering organises group volunteering trips for university students to schools and colleges for disadvantaged young people in India and Uganda.
It was founded in 2012 and has since coordinated 15 group volunteering trips, raising over £100,000 towards transformational education projects, including sanitation projects and the building of new school infrastructure (such as classrooms, playgrounds, toilets and kitchens).
My story:
"Jitna bhi try karo Bunny, life me kuch na kuch toh chootega hi. Toh jahan ho, wahin ka mazaa lete hai." This quote from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, a film set in the breathtaking landscapes of Manali, resonates deeply with me. Not just because it is my favourite movie but also because it reminds me to embrace the present moment and make the most of every opportunity, just as I hope to do with this volunteering trip.
I am fundraising for this experience because it offers a meaningful way to give back while also allowing me to connect with my family heritage and honor my grandfather’s legacy. Continuing to serve in his honor, especially in such a culturally rich and beautiful place as Manali, will allow me to deepen my commitment to helping others while also embracing the essence of this quote—being fully present in the moment and appreciating where I am. Just as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani captures the spirit of adventure, self-discovery, and giving back, this trip represents all of that for me, making it an experience I am truly passionate about.
