Story
Hello all. I will be completing a cycle challenge, cycling from London to Amsterdam over 4 days (almost 400 miles) next June with my 2 brother-in-laws, Fraser and Chad and a good friend Rob.
Alder Hey hospital has been very important in my family’s life. When my son Jack was 3 weeks old, he had Pyloric stenosis and needed a vital operation.Alder Hey treated him quickly and took good care of myself and my wife as worried parents.
My nephew Tomi has recently had brain surgery to remove a brain cavernoma, to help with his epilepsy and seizures. Alder Hey have been fantastic with him.
My main reason for raising money is my niece Daisy. She was diagnosed with leukaemia in July 2022, while we were all away together on a family holiday. Since then, she has been in the care of the amazing staff at Alder Hey, having chemotherapy and rehabilitation. She is regularly cared for as an inpatient and the amount Alder Hey have done for her and her family is priceless.
Participating in this cycle challenge is my attempt at beginning to repay Alder Hey for all it has done for my family and for the many families it supports from around the UK.
Any donation is very much appreciated.
Many thanks, Leigh
