Story
As some of you may know in October 2023 our dad lost his battle with Cancer. My dad had lived with cancer for 2years and not once did it stop him, he still worked constantly, which he loved, away road trips on his motorbike and generally lived his life normally while going through different treatments.
In September 2023 he got admitted to hospital and we were told the cancer was aggressive and my dad was now palliative care, this was a huge shock as he had been so well within himself and worked up until the day before he went into hospital.
He was moved to The Ayrshire Hospice where he spent his last 4 weeks, during those 4 weeks he was made comfortable and as pain free as possible. The care and support he got from all the staff was incredible, even the support shown to Dean and I was amazing.
We have done fundraising for the Ayrshire Hospice in the past but you never think it’s going to be one of your family members in there receiving end of life care. We will be forever grateful for the care my dad was given right up to his last days.
Dean and I have decided to do a skydive at the beginning of August to raise money for this great charity and in Memory of our Dad ❤️
