I wanted to do something in Robin's honour and continue raising awareness of the life-saving impact of the HPV vaccine.

Many people don't realise that the HPV vaccine doesn't just protect girls – it can also save the lives of boys and men by helping to prevent mouth and throat cancers.

We miss Robin in ways that words will never fully capture, and losing him has changed our family's lives forever. If this vaccine had been available when Robin was younger, I wouldn't be writing this today.

This year, I've persuaded my cycling buddy Wendy to take on a real challenge with me: cycling from Newcastle to Edinburgh – 50 miles a day for four days with our supplies/clothing in our panniers. We've been training, but it won't be easy. Whenever it gets tough, I'll be thinking about everything Robin endured, and that will keep me going.
