Leigh Sports Village's fundraiser for Wigan and Leigh Hospice

Leigh Sports Village is raising money for Wigan & Leigh Hospice

Born Survivor · 12 September 2026 ·

We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

Story

Thanks so much for visiting our JustGiving page!

Five team members from Leigh Sports Village are taking on the 6K Lancashire Born Survivor Challenge on Saturday 12th September to raise money for Wigan & Leigh Hospice.

This isn’t your average run, it’s a tough obstacle course designed by Royal Marines Commandos, featuring 20 military-grade obstacles, plenty of mud and challenging terrain that will really push us to our limits!

For over 40 years, Wigan & Leigh Hospice has provided vital, compassionate care to adults across the borough, delivering expert palliative support tailored to each individual. Their work is truly invaluable but it comes at a cost of over £4.4 million per year (that’s around £12,000 every single day) to keep their services running and free for those who need them most.

We’re aiming to raise £1,000 through this challenge, and every donation big or small will make a real difference.

Donating through JustGiving is quick, easy, and completely secure. Your details are safe, and your donation goes directly to the charity, making it one of the most efficient ways to give. Thank you for helping us support such an amazing cause!
