Story
This June I am running an Ultramarathon, along the length of Hadrians Wall, 70 miles in total in a day.
I am hoping to raise some much needed funds for Young Lives-V-Caner. As some of you know my daughter Georgia was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 19, at that time she had just settled into College and was making plans with her friends to go to her first big festival, then in a blink of an eye everything changed for her and us as a family. Georgia's life was put on hold whilst she underwent numerous operations, it was devastating, and a painful process for her, it was dufficult for me not being able to help her and take away her pain.
Throughout this time Rachel from Young Lives-V-Cancer was at Georgia's side the whole time, she was brlliant and was there when I couldn't be because I still had to work. She helped Georgia get financial support, a laptop to connect with the outside world and that emotional health support that she needed, she sat and talked to her for hours and kept her company. Rachel was also there for me when I needed support, at the other end of the phone and in person. We couldn't have got through that time in our lives without Young Lives-V -Cancer. They do so much for so many young people with cancer and their support is vital at such a difficult time.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me raise some much needed funds for this charity.
Life can change in an instant.
Leila
