Story
I am taking part in Epilepsy Society’s Challenge 100 — running 100 miles in January — to raise awareness for the 1 in 100 people in the UK who live with epilepsy every day.
One of those people is our lovely 11-year-old daughter, Nila.
Nila has lived with epilepsy since she was just six months old and has faced many different types of seizures throughout her life. She has been through numerous medications and treatments, and despite everything, she continues to struggle.
I am taking on this challenge to honour her journey, recognise her daily struggles, and help raise awareness of epilepsy and its impact on families like ours.
Any donation you are able to make will help Epilepsy Society continue their incredible work — and it will also spur me on throughout my challenge. Below are a few examples of how your support could help:
£24 could pay for a trained operator to support a caller with concerns about living with epilepsy
£50 could help prepare samples for crucial genetic testing, bringing us closer to groundbreaking discoveries
£100 could allow whole genomes to be stored and tested for five people, paving the way for personalised treatments
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support — it truly means a great deal to us. 💜
