Leo Franco is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Team: EDF Nova North

Hackney Half Marathon 2025 · 18 May 2025 ·

EDF vows to help end the devastation of dementia. We aim to raise a whopping £300,000 through employee fundraising and £150,000 in additional donations, all supporting the cost of life changing dementia services and ground-breaking research.

Story

I am reaching out to ask for your support as I prepare to run the Oxford Half Marathon this October in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s Society supports those living with dementia today, providing hope for the future. I feel this cause is incredibly important as Alzheimer's has and will impact so many of us and the charity is also at the forefront of researching a cure for this disease.

Last year, I ran the half marathon for St Mungo’s Homeless Charity and despite an injury, I completed the race in 2 hours 18 minutes and managed to raise over £600. This year, I went faster and further raising £1700 for the Hackney half and finishing in 2hrs 3minutes.

Thanks so much for all your support so far! I’m keeping momentum and continuing to raise money for the the Oxford Half this October.

I would be truly grateful for any sponsorship you could provide to help fund Alzheimer’s Society’s work. Your support would mean a lot to me and to those living with dementia.
