Story
On April 26th 2026, I will be taking part in the London marathon, it has taken many years to finally be accepted for this once in a lifetime event and I can’t wait to embrace the challenge!
I will be running for the PKD Charity, which is a charity very close to mine and my families hearts, I was diagnosed with PKD a couple of years back, momentarily this had a huge effect on my mental health and I struggled to come to terms with the long term impact this would have on my life.
I have since come out the other side and supported this fantastic charity on many occasions, most recently with the dare devil sky dive in Hinton and further back completing the gruelling 52km Peak District Ultra challenge with my brother Bree, this was all supported by you fantastic people who helped me reach my targets with your amazing support and kind donations. Thank you all so much.
This final challenge has come at a difficult time for me, I recently broke my tibia and fibula bones in my right leg which to my frustration still hasn’t healed correctly, the metal work in my leg is broken and day to day walking can be a real struggle, something that I’ve always took for granted.
Despite this major big setback, this has made me even more determined to complete my final goal at next years London marathon and come back fighting! If any person knows me well they will know I will give this my bestest shot and not finishing will not be an option.
Please get behind me by supporting me and this fantastic charity reach our goal, please share my page to all your friends, family and wider communities, I will not be able to do this without your amazing support.
Any donations no matter how small is extremely kind and so much appreciated, it makes a huge difference to the PKD charity.
Your support will go a long way in helping finding a cure and supporting our people with PKD.
PKD Charity
PKD Charity is a UK-based organization dedicated to supporting individuals and their families affected by Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). As a charity we play a vital role in supporting and advocating for the 70,000 people in the UK who suffer with the incurable disease.
We do this in a number of ways:
Since 2000, when the charity was formed, we have invested thousands of pounds in to ground breaking research in to the development of new treatments to slow or prevent PKD progression, reduce pain, improve quality of life and ultimately find a cure.
There is currently NO cure for PKD.
