If you are on this link then you are part of my team that are walking the South Downs to help raise money for CiaO and VIM. Between us and all of our supporters I am sure we can reach our target!

We are raising funds for VIM who provide support, such as physio therapy etc, for those who have had severe injury. For example, over the last 6 months we have sponsored Macy. Here is a bit about Macy:

The sponsored walk is to raise funds for our CiaO Awards ( which anyone can apply for) with a priority given to helping those like Macy ……. If your car hits a tree at 70 mph you would be lucky to survive. In Macy’s case her survival rate was said by the hospital to be 2% having severed an artery, punctured a lung, and suffered multiple fractures. After 14 hours of life saving surgery and having been in an induced coma for six weeks, Macy very slowly began to recover from her horrific accident. Imagine if Macy was one of your loved ones...

Macy's goal has been independently get herself out of bed and manoeuvre her own wheelchair, we're happy to have been able to support Macy in achieving that goal.

Whilst Macy (like so many others) has had excellent care from the NHS, she needs specialist rehabilitation that the NHS will ( because they cannot afford to) no longer fund. As a consequence, CiaO have set up a not-profit partnership with VIM Health to provide subsidized rehabilitation treatment to those in need from a prioritised medical and financial need perspective.
