Leonie's fundraiser for Forces Employment Charity

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Forces Employment Charity provides life-long, life-changing support, job opportunities and training to Service leavers, reservists, veterans and their families, irrespective of circumstances, rank, length of service or reason for leaving. As a spouse and someone deeply connected to the Armed Forces Community, I know first-hand the profound impact Forces Employment Charity can have. They offered guidance and hope when I needed support when it felt out of reach. By fundraising for their organisation, I want to ensure others like me can experience the same life-changing support and discover new opportunities for a brighter future.
I'm a 26-year-old French woman living and working in the UK, and I'm also a military spouse. I began my running journey three years ago while researching the best way to move my body. Although I tried various sports growing up, I had never run before. I gave it a go and hated it at first. However, with time and practice, I started to enjoy running and even managed to increase the distances I could cover.
Last summer, I challenged myself to run a marathon distance during the Paris Olympics mass marathon. Although I didn’t finish the race, I was incredibly proud of what over three years of practice had enabled me to achieve. Next year, I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon as both a personal challenge and in support of FEC.
So come along with me, and let’s begin this journey together!
