London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

On 12 April, I’m running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a cause that’s very close to my heart. My dad, Peter, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2008, so it’s been a long and painful journey. He is now in a care home and nearing the end of his life. As many of you will know, it’s such a cruel disease and relatives and loved ones can feel powerless to do anything to help.

I’ve been a runner for years, so running to raise money for Alzheimer's Society felt like a natural choice. This amazing organization provides invaluable resources and support for families affected by this devastating illness. The money raised would contribute to improving the lives and experiences of those who are struggling with Alzheimer’s, whether as a patient or a loved one.

I am hoping to raise as much as possible for this important cause. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can; even the smallest amount makes a massive difference 🫶
